Manali & Rohtang Pass, Kullu Valley

The state Himachal Pradesh is in the north of India 2000m over sea level at the foot of the impressive Rohtang Mountains. Manali is the last town in the fertile Kullu Valley.
The former Hill Station is favored by tourists, honey moon couples and hippies because of the mild climate. Manali also known as the Queen of the Mountains is an important stating town for trekking tours to the neighboring Lahaul, Spiti Valley and the Zanskar mountain ranges.
I mountain biked in 1994 and again in 2005 from Manali to Leh on the plateau formerly the Kingdom of Ladakh.
