Vancouver British Columbia
Vancouver is also called the Pearl of the Pacific. Many believe it is the most beautiful city in the world. Vancouver built between the shore of the pacific and the mountain ranges are a very special place to be in. The skyline, the extensive parks and the architecture convey a joyous quality of life.
Vancouver Downtown
The main attractions of Vancouver are found in the city centre and are easily reached on foot. The older suburbs around Granville Island like Gastown, Chinatown and the artist quarter are fascinating for any visitor.
Vancouver Yaletown

English Bay Beach
Ships are waiting on the west coast of Vancouver just outside of the English Bay Beach. The promenade along the English Bay Beach is a favorite spot for joggers, bicyclers and sun bathers. The sunset along this wide curving bay on the west coast is something to savour.
BC Place Stadium
The British Columbia Place Stadium by False Creek is situated between the formerly EXPO site and the Robson Street. The roof of the stadium has a Teflon canvas roof which is kept in place by atmospheric pressure. The BC Place Stadium is the home ground of the BC Lions Football Club. It was built in 1983 seating up to 60’000 spectators. The stadium is the largest structure of its kind in the whole world.
During a severe snowstorm on January 5th, 2007 a tear occurred in the inflatable Teflon roof on the BC Place. Nobody was insured in the incident. However rain and melted snow floodet the bowl and had to be pumped out. The BC Place stadium will serve as the site for both the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
