Bowron Lake Provincial Park
Lake Bowron Provincial Park is east of Quesnel in the middle of the Cariboo Mountains. The highlight of this park is the 116km long Lake Bowron Canoe Circuit. The circuit comprises 11 lakes which are connected via rivers or brooks or portages. The canoe circuit leads the tourist through a magnificent wilderness. This tour is counted as one of the most beautiful canoe routes in the world.
Kibbee Lake
The one week adventure canoeing Lake Bowron begins by the picturesque lake Kibbee surrounded by endless forests. Traveling by canoe you travel past unforgettable beautiful sceneries.
Indian Summer
By Lake Bowron beginning of October 1995. Already the Indian summer is nearly over. A last ray of sun illuminates the forest and intensifies the beautiful autumn colours of the trees. Around this time of the year not many canoeists are around. No wonder the days are getting shorter, the weather is changeable and the temperatures during the night drop close to zero degrees.

Lake Bowron and in the background the snow covered Cariboo mountains. After the canoe tour I take one last look at the grandiose dream like landscape of Canada.
Cariboo Falls
With a huge roar falls the Cariboo River out of Lake Bowron Provincial Park. The 24 metre high falls are close to Lake Unna. It is a short hike from Lake Unna to the Cariboo waterfalls. It is advisable to go on foot and not by canoe.

Waterfall Ahead
The warning sign is visible from far and it is a very good idea to follow the sign. Last chance to leave the Isaac River and get on shore otherwise you drop 12 metres down the waterfall.
Babcock Creek
Crossing a beaver dam by canoe in 1995 in the Babcock creek. Beaver dams are a natural help to maintain the water level of Lake Babcock. The small brook connecting Lake Babcock with the Cariboo River was no longer passable by canoe in 2001. A portage is now used to transport the canoes.
