Bowron Lake Provincial Park

Lake Bowron Provincial Park is east of Quesnel in the middle of the Cariboo Mountains. The highlight of this park is the 116km long Lake Bowron Canoe Circuit. The circuit comprises 11 lakes which are connected via rivers or brooks or portages. The canoe circuit leads the tourist through a magnificent wilderness. This tour is counted as one of the most beautiful canoe routes in the world.

By Lake Bowron beginning of October 1995. Already the Indian summer is nearly over. A last ray of sun illuminates the forest and intensifies the beautiful autumn colours of the trees. Around this time of the year not many canoeists are around. No wonder the days are getting shorter, the weather is changeable and the temperatures during the night drop close to zero degrees.

Cariboo Falls

With a huge roar falls the Cariboo River out of Lake Bowron Provincial Park. The 24 metre high falls are close to Lake Unna. It is a short hike from Lake Unna to the Cariboo waterfalls. It is advisable to go on foot and not by canoe.
